The global CO2 production figures were downloaded from: http://cdiac.ornl.gov/trends/emis/tre_glob.html.

The CO2 data from Law Dome ice core and Mauna Lau observatory were downloaded from ftp://ftp.cmdl.noaa.gov/ccg/co2/trends/co2_mm_mlo.txt (Reference: Pieter Tans (303 497 6678; pieter.tans@noaa.gov) and
ftp://ftp.ncdc.noaa.gov/pub/data/paleo/icecore/antarctica/law/law_co2.txt. (Reference: Etheridge, D.M., et al., 2001, Law Dome Atmospheric CO2 Data).

The data for figures on CO2 per country, per capita and per $ GDP were downloaded from http://millenniumindicators.un.org/unsd/mdg/Search.aspx?q=carbon%20dioxide

The data for CO2 from Vostok Ice Core was based on the co2nat.txt downloaded from http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/paleo/metadata/noaa-icecore-2453.html. (Reference: Petit, J.R., et al., 2001, Vostok Ice Core Data for 420,000 Years, IGBP PAGES/World Data Center for Paleoclimatology Data Contribution Series #2001-076. NOAA/NGDC Paleoclimatology Program, Boulder CO, USA.)

The data on Methane (CH4) from Mauna Lau was downloaded from: ftp://ftp.cmdl.noaa.gov/ccg/ch4/flask/month.zip.

The data on Methane from the Vostok Ice core was based on the file ch4nat.txt downloaded from: http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/paleo/metadata/noaa-icecore-2453.html
(Reference: Petit, J.R., et al., 2001, Vostok Ice Core Data for 420,000 Years, IGBP PAGES/World Data Center for Paleoclimatology Data Contribution Series #2001-076.

The graphs on long-wave emissions and absorption were prepared by ourselves using data from various sources including “Climate process & change” by Edward Bryant and publications of K Trenberth.

Data on CH4 and N2O sources also came from the US EPA web site:
